In Pilsen Papírna, the presentation of the UCI races AC Heating Stupno and the KION Group Stříbro Grand Prix took place. The conference also included the presentation of the 23rd year of the PILSEN REGION MOUNTAIN BIKE CUP.
On March 13, 2024, a press conference about the UCI races and the PPK series (AC Heating cup) took place in the beautiful premises of the PAPÍRNA Plzeň cafe.
The participants were partners, representatives of the Pilsen Region, and the race implementation team.
The press was accompanied by Ondřej Paur himself, who right at the beginning recalled the founding of the series by Marcel Beran in 2001 and his first start in life, which he completed with Ondra Cink, precisely in the Pilsen Cup series (it was 2004 in Chrást).
"This year, Ondřej Cink is waiting for the fourth Olympics in Paris, so it can be said that from the Pilsen Cup to the Olympics. A beautiful story.", podotkl Lampík.
Furthermore, the time schedule of the races was presented, which will be held identically in Stupno and Stříbro.
A large space was dedicated to the individual partners of the race - their introduction, as well as the valuable prizes that await the winners of the individual categories.
The mayor of Břasy - Miroslav Kroc, and also for Stříbro - the deputy mayor and great cyclist Karel Lukeš talked a lot about the entire weekend program itself, how both municipalities are preparing for sports events with international participation.
"We are looking forward not only to the big names at the start, but also to the accompanying program: excellent refreshments, races for amateurs (OPEN category), children's program - inflatable slide, face painting and much more..."
The same was confirmed for the general partner of the race KION Group – Eva Hrůšová, who confirmed the seriousness of this great event, as well as the company's honor to be part of and support such a large international sporting and cultural event in the region. In conclusion, she mentioned, as a challenge to Mr. Karel Lukeš, the KION trail run on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. in Ronšperk, where the entire event will take place. Will the city management stand up to the start? We'll see 🙂

Both races are listed in the nomination criteria for the 2024 European Junior Championships.
